The Perfect Eggs for your Biscuits!

I have been meaning to post this for quite a while now.  I have figured out how to make your eggs perfectly round to place them on a biscuit.  I hate it when the egg is all over the place or ends up stacked several inches high in some spots and barely there in others when I make an egg sandwich on a biscuit.  It's also hard for small hands to hold a sloppy biscuit.  So I HAD to come up with a solution.
One morning while putting dishes away before making breakfast I pulled the jar ring out of the dishwasher and it hit me.  I can use a jar ring to make a perfectly round egg!!!  I had to test it out and it worked!

First, you place your jar lid on your pan or griddle so that it heats up.  While it's heating up break your eggs into a bowl and beat them, unless you like whole yolks.  After the pan and ring are hot pour your egg into the ring.  I found that you have to hold the ring down with a fork or spatula or the egg can run out the bottom.

Now comes the slightly difficult part.  After the egg is completely cooked on 1 side you have to flip it so that it will finish cooking on the other.  You flip the whole egg and ring together.  Try not to throw egg everywhere.  After it's flipped press down on the egg to make sure the other side comes in contact with the pan.

Once your egg is completely cooked take it off the griddle or pan and let it cool for a minute so that the ring isn't to terribly hot to handle.

Then take your egg out of the ring and place it on the biscuit!

As you can see some egg stuck to my ring.  I'd suggest spraying it with cooking spray or rubbing it down with butter before heating it up.

Now go enjoy yourself an egg biscuit with a perfectly round egg.

Hold the Phone!

Evita, Newsies, and Sister Act 1 & 2 are now available on Blu-ray starting today!  This is something that has to be shared ASAP!

I loved watching Sister Act when I was a kid.  Seems like it was always on TV.  My absolute favorite song was "I will Follow Him".  I would get up and sing and dance with the song.

I also grew up on musicals.  My dad was an actor/singer in college.  My parents had me while my dad was in college so I was started musicals as soon as I was born.  My favorite musical of all time was Evita.  I had seen it on stage and had the cassette of the broadway soundtrack.  I remember when it first was announced that it was going to be a movie.  I couldn't have been more excited.  But then when they said Madonna was going to be Evita.  My little self couldn't wait!  She was my favorite singer.  I had ALL of her albums on either cd or cassette.  I was a strange kid.  We lived in several apartments with balconies.  I would get on the balcony and belt out "Don't Cry for me Argentina" with all my heart.  Those were the good old days. :)

Newsies was also a favorite of mine.  But my brothers I think liked it even more.  Because when you watched Newsies it was cool that boys sang and danced.  I'm sure that was their favorite day in music class.  For some reason all of our music teachers thought that watching the Newsies was a great free day.  None of us complained because it is so good.  The best song and scene is easily "Seize the Day".

I'm so gonna talk my husband into letting me get one of these movies this week.  If I can't get it this week I totally want all of these for my birthday!

Maleficent

Have you ever felt bad for the villains?  Have you ever wondered what their back story was to make them have such black hearts?  I have quite often.  They couldn't have always been so horrible.  Something had to have crushed their spirits.

Disney is now going to answer all those questions in their new movie Maleficent.  They started production!  I'm so excited for this movie to come out!  It's going to be a long almost 2 years!
I'm so excited that I wanted to share the press release with you all.

"Burbank, CA (June 19, 2012) – The Walt Disney Studios announced today that production began Wednesday, June 13th, on “Maleficent,” starring Academy Award®–winning actress Angelina Jolie.
Directed by two-time Oscar®-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (“Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland”), in his directorial debut, and produced by Joe Roth, “Maleficent” is written by Linda Woolverton (“The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast”) and executive produced by Angelina Jolie, Don Hahn, Matt Smith and Palak Patel.
Co-starring in the film are Sharlto Copley (“District 9”), Elle Fanning (“Super 8”), Sam Riley (“On the Road”), Imelda Staunton (“Vera Drake”), Miranda Richardson (“The Hours”), Juno Temple (“Atonement”) and Lesley Manville (“Secrets & Lies”).
This is the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain, Maleficent, from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.
Behind-the-scenes talent includes Academy Award®–winning cinematographer Dean Semler (“Dances with Wolves,” “In the Land of Blood and Honey”), production designer Gary Freeman (“Saving Private Ryan,” “The Bourne Supremacy”), two-time Oscar® nominated costume designer Anna B. Sheppard (“Schindler’s List,” “The Pianist”) and seven-time Academy Award–winning makeup artist Rick Baker (“Planet of the Apes,” “Men in Black”).
“Maleficent” is scheduled for a March 14, 2014 release in 3D."

Are you excited?!
Who was your favorite Disney Villain when you were a child?
I'll try and keep you updated with info as I receive it.

Hey You Bloggers!

Good afternoon! Or I guess morning, evening, or night.  Just depends on when you're reading it.
As you can all tell I'm slacking in the blogging department.  Some how I can't manage to get it all in.  I either have an amazingly beautifully clean house or I blog.  I've chosen clean house.  It makes me a much happier person.  It also makes my husband and kids seem happier too.  I have time to blog about once a week but have felt so overwhelmed with the things I have to blog about lately that I barely do that.
SO! This is where you come in.  I need guest bloggers.  Guest posters work too.  Even if you don't have a blog.  I'm looking for guests to write posts about cooking, cleaning, parenting, homeschool, faith, and pretty much whatever that fits in with what I blog about.  Just send me an email and your ideas and I'll tell you if they fit!
You will be given 100% credit on the post.  I will link to your site or whatever you want me to link to.
So if you're interested in helping out send me and email to inthemommybusiness@hotmail.com with the subject line, "Guest Poster".
Thanks for all your help!  And for sticking with me!

Relive all the magic and excitement of these two beloved favorites on this 3-Disc Combo Pack, which includes a DVD of each film. Share the laughter and the love for the first time on Disney Blu-ray."

When I was a preteen/teenager girly movies about other girls' troubles were my livelyhood.  I clung to the stories and would dream that I was them.  I found self esteem through them.  If they could make it through their problems why couldn't I make it through mine?
Princess Diaries was one of my favorites.  It has EVERYTHING a girl like that could want.  There's the girl with problems similar to yours.  Then, there's the whole fairy tale part of it where she finds out she's secretly a princess.  Her struggles with becoming the princess everyone she wants her to be and the princess she is helps boost self esteem.  At least it helped me.
I recently watched it with my three year old.  I realized that it is fun to watch for the whole family.  My three year old just sees the princess part of it.  She doesn't get the deeper emotions and stuggles to it because she hasn't come across those things in life yet.  And it's still entertaining to me because it lets me remember my times as a preteen/teen.  Fun stuff! hehe.
So next time you're looking for a movie for a special night with your daughter pick up this one.  It won't disappoint.
