My Goals: Week 1 update

Last week I set out my goals for the year for you guys.  It was also for myself.  If I make them public like that then it is easier for me to keep them.

I thought I did alright with saying "yes" to Madelynn.  There were a lot of times I screwed up.  My sister-in-law Amy found THIS great post that has really helped me out.  Things went alot better after I read that one.  This week I'm planning some fun activities for us to do.

I lost 5lbs this week! If I keep it up I'll make my goal in half the time! I know I probably won't.  The first few weeks are always the easiest.  The weight drops quick and then you slow down.  Today I'm starting Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred.  It's an intense 20 minute work out.  I'll be doing it at naptime.  Then, if I'm not to dead after that I might go to Zumba with my friend.  If I don't go tonight to Zumba I will be going soon. It sounds like so much fun!
I'm also looking into finding a safe weight loss system for nursing women.  Seems like all of them aren't recommended for nursing women.  I get the whole you need calories to produce milk.  But I'm having NO problem producing milk and don't see a problem arising any time soon.  Even with counting calories and cutting back from what I used to eat I'm still producing enough.  But oh well! I can do this without one!
My friend introduced me to the "myfitnesspal" app on the iPhone.  I've been using that to keep track of my progress and count calories.  I'm really liking it.

How are you doing with your goals?  Do you need someone to help hold you accountable?

  1. Congrats on the weightloss! I had a hard time losing that last 10 pounds when I was nursing my daughter. I tried to cut my calories, but that also dropped my milk, so I had to continue eating like I was still pregnant. As long as you are drinking enough water and eating ENOUGH calories to produce milk, you should do great! Good Luck!!

  2. I lost four pounds last week. I totally threw the diet out the window for the weekend though and today (Monday) I have had soda, pizza and donuts. Not doing so hot. I will climb back on the wagon tomorrow. I have some excuses but that's just what they are excuses. Anyway, glad your doing great! The Shred is tough, keep to it and it gets much easier about day 4, or at least it did for me but day was almost impossible!
